The Voyages of the Sea Scout

On Ile à Vache, a island off Haiti's south coast, I built a traditional wooden sloop using only local skills and materials. The island has no electricity, roads or running water. We sailed the Spriz to Florida to draw attention to native craft, and to the continuing exodus of Haitian "boat people". For pictures click on the boat or go to
